An updated plan

After considering the results of the financial planning class, I have decided to scale back my 3-year plan (and thesis project) so that I can provide the level of service and products I originally intended, focus on the e-commerce and mobile experience, and so I can add additional PR efforts as originally planned. Below is an outline of my updated plan:
  • Mintworks Collective will be online (e-commerce and mobile) only for the first six months
  • After six months, pop-up shops will be done in conjunction with local boutiques, galleries, bakeries, salons, and fashion events; these shops will essentially be a table presentation inside the venue, so the only thing needed are table displays and signage. Pop-ups will be utilized to blur the lines between online and offline.
  • The first three years will focus strictly on finding, presenting, and promoting designers
  • The mobile truck will launch in year 5
  • A gallery/showroom space will be secured in year 5, 6, or 7
For the first three years, Mintworks Collective will be based in Charlotte, NC (this is where I live). In year 4 or 5, we will relocate the business to either LA or San Francisco.
