From the module:
A social business borrows from the capitalist system, according to the 2009 analysis referenced earlier. Captialism distinguishes between two types of corporate bodies:profit-maximizing businesses whose purpose is to create shareholder value andnonprofit organizations that exist to fulfill a social objective. A social business borrows from both these entities. Its premise is that such a business will recover its full costs from its operations and owners are entitled to recover their invested money. However, the primary difference between a conventional start-up and a social business is that it is more cause-driven than profit-driven. In addition, the social business offers the potential to act as a change agent, the research finds.
Issues Covered:
Styling:
I need to figure out an aesthetic for Adorn Collective, and stylists provide a good inspiration. This goes right along with what I'm working on this week for my marketing plan- developing a mini merchandising strategy and look/feel to the products.
Here are some images I really like:

Management Concepts:
My vision for Adorn Collective has always been social in nature. While not a non-profit, this business concept is borrowing concepts from the non-profit world in that it is helping give independent artists a platform for their work right alongside more established designers. My idea for a dual target market of artists (vendors) and the end customer lays the foundation for a strong CSR plan focused largely on the arts.
